Zeppoli

Ingredients:

  • Pizza Dough
  • Oil for frying (I used avocado but canola or vegetable would be good too)
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Brown Paper Bag


Add about 2 cups of oil into a small sauce pan over med high heat

While your oil is heating up, roll the pizza dough out to be about 1/2 inch thick. Cut your pizza dough into 1″ strips with a pizza cutter. Then cut strips into 1″ pieces.

Test if the oil is hot by adding a small scrap of pizza dough. If it rises to the top and bubbles right away your oil is ready!

Add 1-inch squares of dough in small batches. I added mine 5 at a time. Stir and flip dough with a slotted spoon until golden brown on all sides. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Continue this step until all of your dough is fried.

Add zeppoli to a brown bag, sprinkle powdered sugar on top and shake until they are completely coated.

Serve Immediately!
