This party set up is the perfect theme for any summer party! There are so many fun phrases & play-on-words and you can use to theme your party!
A citrus theme is also very versatile, no matter what your planning! Whether it’s a baby shower, birthday party, or even a bridal shower you can tailor it to your event!
Some Cute Themes Using Citrus:
- “Hey Cutie” or “Little Cutie”
- “Orange You Glad”
- “She Found Her Main Squeeze”
- “A Little Cutie Is On the Way”
Since starting this blog I have had the opportunity to connect with so many talented people through social media! This theme was a collaboration with several bloggers/DIY/party stylists from across the country! Check out their posts as well for more ideas!
During this crazy uncertain time, I have been really trying to support local small businesses whenever possible. This post was a perfect opportunity to do so, I ordered these Organic Pops from Joy Pop Co! If you are a Vegas local you have to give them a try, their pops are made in small batches with local organic ingredients! I made prosecco pops with half of them for the grown-ups! I placed them in a wine glass with a little prosecco and as the pops melted, it created a delicious fresh mimosa! The other half of pops went into little votives filled with Prosecco flavored gummy bears (non-alcoholic). I love the whimsical touch the gummy bears add to the display.
How cute it this simple yet elegant backdrop? It was very easy to make, it’s a little time consuming but very easy.
You can use any citrus you’d like, I used; clementines, oranges, lemons, and grapefruits. I cut them into 1/4″ slices, lined them on a rack that I put on top of a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
Bake at 200 degrees for 4 hours, be sure to flip your slices half way through.
Allow to cool once you take them out of the oven. Using a needle and fishing line (or thread/twine) simply string your slices to make strands.
I tied the fishing line in a loop at one end and then strung them onto a curtain rod. I used adhesive hooks to hang the curtain rod- This is a great tip for any backdrop! An inexpensive tension rod & some hooks can do wonders for your set up!
I saved my leftover dried slices to use around the table and for the ice cubes! For the Ice Cubes- I cut some of the dried slices into halves, placed them into ice cube trays, covered with water, and put them in the freezer.
This was a simple and affordable detail that packed a big punch!
I can’t wait to see what events you throw with this cute citrus theme! Don’t forget to check out the ladies I’ve collaborated with for even more ideas!
