DIY Hug Time Bracelets

Materials:

  • Felt in several different colors
  • Multicolored buttons
  • Thread
  • Needle
  • Self adhesive velcro
  • Accuquilt cutter
  • X-acto Knife

Cut felt into 1.5″ by 6″ strips

Add velcro to either end, be sure to add the velcro on top of the strip on one side and the bottom of the strip on the other.

Stitch a button in the center of your strip

Cut out flower shapes using your flower dye cut from accuquilt, this is not an affiliated post. If you do not have this machine, you can make a pattern from a piece of cardstock, trace it onto your felt, and cut by hand.

I cut out two different sizes so they could be layered. I also cut out leaves from this same dye cut,

Using an X-acto knife, cut a 1/2″ slit in the center of your flowers and leaves.

That’s it! This makes it very easy for the kids to assemble themselves. They will choose a color band, a leaf, a large flower, and a small flower.

Start by sliding the leaf onto the button, then the large flower, and finish with the small flower on top.
