Materials:
- Photo backdrop frame
- Sheer curtains x 6 panels
- Twinkle lights
- 100 assorted balloons
- Large glue dots (1/2in)
- Balloon garland tape
- Cardstock cut outs
I blew up all the balloons the day before the shower in three different sizes. Small (size of grapefruit) Medium (size of cantaloupe) and Large (just before full capacity) I started by inserting the medium and large balloons. I alternated them randomly in every other hole in the balloon tape. I put the extra balloons in trash bags and this made for easy transport and quick setup.
The day of the shower:
- Set up tripod stands and frame for backdrop
- String two sets of panels on the top rod of frame
- Using large clips, clips the next set of sheer panels on top to create more opacity.
- Hang string lights from clips that are holding curtains.
- Add one more layer of curtain panels on top of the light. Re-clipping as you go.
Now we are ready to add the balloon garland! This is why I only add balloons in every other hole. It makes it easier to clip the garland to the frame. Once you have is positioned and securely clipped, begin adding remaining balloons in the open holes.
Once the balloon tape is full, use your glue dots to start clustering the balloons together and adding the smaller balloons to fill in holes and give more dimension. There is no right or wrong way, the goal is for it to look full organic.
Once the balloons were where I wanted them, I added some accent star cut outs with my glue dots! And that’s it!
