DIY Boho Garland

Materials:

  • Floral Garland (4 – 6ft garlands of your choice)
  • Twist Ties
  • Twine
  • Embroidery Thread

I found these 6 foot floral garlands at my craft store for 50% off! I bought a bunch of them because I knew they would come in handy.

They were perfect for this desert boho birthday party, using twist ties, I attached both of the 6ft white flower garlands to create 12ft and did the same with the pink flower garland.

Once you have two 12 ft garlands, twist the two together to create on 12ft garland with white and pink flowers.

Next I made the tassels for the garland, I simply wrapped twine around a 6in square ruler about 15 times.

Cut the tail

Gently slide off the ruler

Using Embroidery floss, tie a knot at the center top.

Next tie a knot around the top to create the look of a tassel.

Hold the tail of the thread flush with the tassel and start to wrap the long piece of thread until you have the desired width. I made mine about a 1/2in. Tie a knot to the tail that is buried under the wrap and cut the excess off.

Continue to make tassels until you have your desired amount. I made 12 tassels total, it was enough to have one every 12″.

String the tassels onto a long piece of twine and wrap them around the floral garland.

This is the perfect addition to the front of a food table, an arch or photo backdrop! So many options and it takes about an hour to make!

Happy Crafting!
